Do you unsubscribe from spam emails?

10 signs you should invest in your personal cyber security

Thursday 14th June 2018

Do you unsubscribe from commercial emails that you never requested?
Remember that spam emails are made to look authentic. This means that they will almost always contain some links which allow you to unsubscribe. But, instead of that they just make you verify that your email address is valid. Depending on the type of the unsolicited email (spam, phishing, malware), it can be that a malware, a drive by download or another phishing website is being offered.

Don’t click on Unsubscribe or Opt-out!
Just mark the email as spam and the email client will do the rest.
If you know how to do that, report it to SpamCop or other organizations that deal with spam.

But, never, ever click on “Unsubscribe” or “Opt-out” links in unsolicited emails.
